Volkswagen Reveals Prices for the 2024 Golf R and GTI Clubsport – Get Ready to Pay More for Performance!
The 2024 VW Golf R and Golf GTI Clubsport prices have been released
They are now available in the online configurator, and, as usual, the cost has increased significantly
Following the refresh of the Volkswagen Golf 8, its high-performance versions, the Golf R, Golf R Variant, and Golf GTI Clubsport, have been updated. We're aware that we've extensively showcased the updated high-performance Golf models on our site in recent weeks. But we have one more piece of news (at least until the reviews of the final production models are in), and it's likely to catch your interest: the pricing details are out!
Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport
It was somewhat expected that the team from Wolfsburg would tighten their grip a little more, and that's exactly what has happened. The Golf GTI Clubsport, equipped with a 300 horsepower turbocharged petrol engine, now has a starting price of €48,075. In 2022, its price was €43,585. Volkswagen is promising enhancements in the suspension and steering departments. Additionally, as with all updated Golf models, they've addressed many of the infotainment system's previous issues, or at least made an attempt to do so.
It hasn't been apparent to us that the club sport model comes with additional standard equipment. Nonetheless, it remains the most powerful front-wheel-drive Golf on the market. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds, and with the optional Performance Package, which includes an Akrapovic exhaust system and 19-inch wheels for an extra 4,050 euros, it can reach a top speed of 270 km/h. For those interested, the recommended adaptive suspension is available for 865 euros, and LED matrix headlights for 1,215 euros.

Golf R and Golf R Estate
The price for the Golf R now begins at a minimum of €53,795, with the estate version, the Golf R Estate, starting at €55,065. For context, back in 2021, the prices were at €49,260 and €51,585 respectively. Clearly, inflation has made its mark.
The enhancements include the now standard 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine, which delivers 333 horsepower, an increase of 14 horsepower from its previous output. This improvement cuts down the acceleration time for the classic 0 to 100 km/h sprint to either 4.6 or 4.8 seconds for the Variant model. The top speed, typically capped at 250 km/h, can be increased to 270 km/h with the addition of the R-Performance package.

Standard features for the R series include an adaptive DCC suspension system and LED-Plus headlights. Additionally, the R model now offers a trailer hitch for the first time, allowing it to tow up to 1,900 kilograms.
Among the key optional extras are the leather package priced at 2,910 euros, the R Performance package for 2,410 euros, the performance exhaust system costing 4,330 euros, and the LED matrix headlights for 1,065 euros.

Golf R Black Edition
The latest addition to the already rich lineup of special Golf R editions is named the Black Edition, with a starting price of €58,440. As the name suggests, the new Golf R Black Edition features a comprehensive black-themed design.
This particular model features an array of darkened elements including headlights, Volkswagen badges, and 'R' logos, as well as black exhaust tips and a dark wheel profile. It comes standard with the R-Performance package and IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights. Moreover, a larger, air-flow optimized roof spoiler enhances downforce.
