Red Bull F1 Overhaul: Lambiase Promoted Amid Major Team Restructuring
Red Bull undergoes management changes, appoints Gianpiero Lambiase to new role
Several adjustments in F1 team made to address Jonathan Wheatley's departure
Gianpiero Lambiase is poised to be promoted to the position of Head of Racing at Red Bull.
He is set to take on this newly established position while continuing to serve as Max Verstappen's race engineer.
Lambiase will handle all responsibilities at the track and will report to Pierre Wache, the technical director.
Lovingly referred to as GP, he has provided guidance to Verstappen over the team radio during races since 2016.
The pair are well-known for their conflicts during races, which are quickly settled once the race is over.
Red Bull is reorganizing sections of their Formula 1 team following the departure of Jonathan Wheatley.
Instead of appointing one person to take over, Red Bull is distributing his responsibilities among multiple individuals.
Wheatley, known for his extensive expertise in F1 regulations, is set to take on the role of Audi team principal next season.
Steve Knowles is transitioning from a strategic role to take on the position of Red Bull's new Head of Sporting Regulations.
Richard Wolverson is set to take on the role of Head of Race Team
Gerrard O'Reilly has been appointed as the new Head of Logistics, while Phil Turner is set to take on the role of Race Team Factory Operations Manager.
The modifications are set to be implemented in 2025.
Red Bull is set to lose Adrian Newey, who is scheduled to join Aston Martin in March 2025.
