Jack Miller Reflects on ‘Bleak’ Summer and Revels in Pramac Yamaha Deal for 2025 MotoGP Season
Jack Miller discusses his "complex" agreement with Pramac: "The situation seemed dire"
Jack Miller shares his initial impressions about his contract with Pramac Yamaha
Jack Miller acknowledged that his prospects in MotoGP "seemed uncertain during the summer break" until he secured a contract with Pramac Yamaha for 2025.
After weeks of speculation, Yamaha confirmed on Thursday, just before the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, that they have secured Miller with a one-year contract for the upcoming season.
During the British Grand Prix, Miller mentioned that he had not received any offers for 2025 after being dropped from the KTM team.
Nevertheless, over the weekend, there were indications of connections to Pramac and speculation about a potential switch to Trackhouse.
Miller competed for Pramac on Ducati bikes from 2018 to 2020, and Yamaha will be his fourth different motorcycle in MotoGP.
"It's been quite a journey, but it's fantastic to finally share it, especially since things seemed pretty grim around the summer break," Miller expressed.
"Feeling incredibly lucky and very pleased to remain in the lineup for next year."
"I believe there's still more for me to accomplish in MotoGP, and I'm incredibly thankful to Paolo Campinoti and the entire Yamaha team for giving me the chance to keep going."
Next season, Miller will join forces with Miguel Oliveira at Pramac, with the Portuguese rider having secured a two-year contract.
Miller isn't worried about not having a long-term contract with Pramac at the moment, as he has often competed under one-year agreements throughout his career.
He described the Yamaha project as "incredibly thrilling."
"I've done some of my finest work while on a one-year contract. I'm quite familiar with that situation."
"We'll just have to wait and see what lies ahead for both of us. For now, it feels incredible."
"Collaborating with them will be enjoyable and demanding, but they already have a solid project that's continuously improving, especially with the satellite team returning in 2025. It seems promising."
Miller's contract has been finalized amid speculations that Yamaha is planning to introduce a V4 engine in 2025, shifting from the inline-four cylinder design they have utilized throughout the four-stroke era.
The racer, who has won the grand prix four times, has previously collaborated with Yamaha’s technical director, Max Bartolini.
