Jack Miller Returns to Pramac Yamaha for 2025 MotoGP Season, Completing the Grid Line-Up
Announcement: Jack Miller to Race for Pramac Yamaha in MotoGP 2025
Jack Miller has been officially announced to rejoin Pramac as it begins a new chapter with Yamaha.
Jack Miller has secured the last spot on the 2025 MotoGP roster, joining Miguel Oliveira in the newly formed Pramac Yamaha team.
The Australian rider is making a comeback to the team he competed with using Ducati bikes from 2018 to 2020.
Miller subsequently advanced to the official Ducati factory team, where he secured victories in three races. He then transitioned to Red Bull KTM at the beginning of the previous year.
Similar to Oliveira, Miller has secured a direct contract with Yamaha and will have access to a Factory 2025 YZR-M1 along with comprehensive Factory support. However, while Oliveira's contract spans two years, Miller's agreement seems to be for just one year.
Yamaha Racing's managing director, Lin Jarvis, expressed their pleasure in revealing that Jack will be part of Prima Pramac Racing's team and extended a warm welcome to him into the Yamaha MotoGP family.
"Having spent a decade in the MotoGP category with three distinct manufacturers, Jack is set to bring significant value to Yamaha. His quickness, expertise, dedication, and collaborative nature will be crucial for our initiative as we aim to enhance the M1's performance from 2025 onward."
"Yamaha plans to offer him complete support in all possible aspects."
During his earlier time with Pramac, Miller secured nine podium finishes and has now been warmly received by team principal Paolo Campinoti, who referred to his return as coming "back home."
"It’s a delight to have Jack rejoin the team," Campinoti expressed. "We played a role in his development in MotoGP, and now it’s fantastic to start this new partnership with Yamaha, relying on a rider we are very familiar with. We send our best wishes to Jack for the remainder of the season and are excited to have him back with us in 2025."
Gino Borsoi, who became the team manager of Pramac early last year, will collaborate with Miller for the first time.
"I'm excited to collaborate with Jack Miller in 2025. He made a strong impression on the team, and I'm sure we can make more great memories," Borsoi stated. "His vast MotoGP experience will be crucial for advancing the new project we'll undertake with Yamaha."
Novice racer Pedro Acosta is set to replace Miller in the KTM team for the 2025 season. Miller, who is 29 years old and made a direct jump to MotoGP from Moto3 in 2015, achieving a stunning first victory for Marc VDS Honda the next year, expressed his astonishment at not securing a spot with Tech3.
Miller eventually confessed that his prospects of remaining in MotoGP seemed dim and that he wasn't receiving any calls, before unexpectedly becoming the leading candidate for the Pramac Yamaha seat.
Miller secured a podium finish in just his fourth KTM grand prix at Jerez last year, followed by another Sprint podium in Germany. However, he hasn't made it to the podium since then.
The ex-Moto3 championship second-place finisher is currently positioned 15th in the rider rankings as they approach the Emilia Romagna event this weekend.
Pramac, currently heading the MotoGP world championship with Jorge Martin riding a Ducati, will use factory-level M1 motorcycles next year, identical to those of the official Monster Yamaha team.
