The latest model of the BMW X3, set to release in 2024, has increased in size, but the question remains – has its spaciousness improved? Let's delve into the dimensions…
Unveiled in the summer, the fourth iteration of the BMW X3, known by its design code G45, boasts a longer and wider frame compared to its predecessor, along with an expanded trunk capacity.
As usual, we're taking a brief look at the dimensions of the updated BMW X3 as it competes with its rivals, the also recently revamped Audi Q5 and Mercedes GLC.

The latest BMW X3 measures a length of 4.76 meters, a width of 1.92 meters, and stands 1.66 meters tall, featuring an exceptionally spacious wheelbase of just over 2.87 meters, which is nearly equivalent to the wheelbase of a typical electric vehicle. Relative to its predecessor, the new model has expanded by 3.4 centimeters in length and 2.9 centimeters in width.
As a premium mid-size SUV, it offers ample space inside, including for those seated in the back, which is quite generous as one might expect. The new X3 indeed provides a spacious interior, further enhanced by the optional large panoramic sunroof that extends across the body to a section of the trunk.
Regarding cargo capacity: The latest generation boasts an increase of over 20 liters compared to its predecessor, which raises the total volume to 570 liters for the mild-hybrid models and 460 liters for the plug-in hybrid models.
In its five-seat layout (previously it was 550 or 440 liters), when the seats are folded down, the space increases to 1,700 or 1,600 liters.
