Neuer Porsche Panamera sprengt Rekorde: Nürburgring-Nordschleife in Rekordzeit bezwungen
Porsche Panamera (2024) Sets New Record at Nürburgring
Latest Model Surpasses Predecessor's Time for Luxury Vehicles…
Near the end of last year, Porsche unveiled the third generation of its sporty family car, the Panamera, to the public. To ramp up excitement just before its launch, the folks from Zuffenhausen decided to once again unleash this sizable vehicle on the Nürburgring racetrack.
As anticipated, the latest flagship Panamera model has once again left its mark on the 20.832 km North Loop track. Previously in 2016 and 2020, the older models achieved class records – with the Panamera Turbo S clocking a time of 7:29.81 minutes most recently. We were almost tempted to refer to it as a "Track Tool"…

Porsche test driver Lars Kern has recently pushed the upcoming flagship model, currently in its pre-production stage, to its limits around the track. The Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid he drove was equipped with a "significantly revised" 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, boasting a system output of 680 horsepower and 930 Nm of torque.
Kern notes that on the North Loop, a car's lateral dynamic capabilities are crucial. He remarks that the new Panamera has made significant improvements in this area. Specifically, in complex sequences of turns such as those from Hohe Acht to Brünnchen, the vehicle handles with noticeably more agility.
The latest model outperformed its predecessor by a margin of 5.64 seconds. Consequently, the record for luxury vehicles with internal combustion engines and hybrids now stands impressively at 7 minutes and 24.17 seconds.
The performance further emphasizes Porsche's aspirations to provide a truly new generation with this model, rather than just a spruced-up facelift. The suspension, propulsion, aerodynamics, and tires have all been revised, a point that Kern also reiterates.
The latest Porsche Active Ride suspension system plays a significant role. The car consistently maintains an even keel with the road surface. Both stability during turns and the tranquility of the vehicle's structure are elevated to unprecedented heights. This instills a sense of confidence in me as the driver and further emphasizes that our engineering advances deliver peak driving comfort not just for daily use but also make a tangible impact on the challenging Nürburgring-Nordschleife track.

To safeguard the driver, a racing seat was installed in the record-setting Panamera, along with a mandatory safety cage. Porsche states that aside from these additions, the pre-production model adheres to the production specifications.
The modifications have resulted in the Porsche Panamera lugging just a few extra kilos around the Nürburgring. In theory, the production model could shave off a few hundredths or tenths of a second more. However, replication is not advisable!
