Genesis Electrified GV70 Gears Up for Tech-Forward 2026 Overhaul After Minor 2025 Updates

The American-manufactured 2025 Genesis Electrified GV70 will feature CarPlay and undergo minor updates, with a more significant overhaul anticipated for 2026.

By the year 2025, the new version of the GV70 will feature built-in wireless support for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, alongside the integration of Genesis' own telematics system, Genesis Connected Services. However, the option for Makalu Gray as a color choice will no longer be available. The starting cost for the Advanced model will be $68,300, and the more upscale Prestige model will begin at $75,100, with both prices taking into account an obligatory delivery fee of $1,350.

Each model features a battery capacity of 77.4 kilowatt-hours and is equipped with a two-motor system that delivers all-wheel drive, offering a standard output of 429 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. Additionally, there's a temporary boost function that can ramp up the power to 483 horsepower for quick 10-second spurts. It's expected that the Environmental Protection Agency's range estimation will stay the same at 236 miles.

The 2025 model of the Genesis GV70 will come

At the 2024 Beijing auto show held in April, Genesis unveiled a refreshed version of the GV70, which is available with traditional gas engines as well. However, this model isn't anticipated to hit the U.S. market before the 2026 model year. The most notable update is the introduction of a massive 27-inch screen that merges the functions of the traditional instrument panel and the infotainment system into one. The cabin is enhanced with mood lighting and touch-sensitive climate controls, and the vehicle's exterior has received some minor tweaks.

The Electrified GV70 was introduced in the United States as a model for the year 2023 after being unveiled in 2021. This vehicle signifies the first introduction of numerous critical electric vehicle technologies for both Genesis and its parent company Hyundai. Notably, it features an innovative multi-rapid-charging system capable of supporting both 400 and 800-volt charging.

The 2025 Genesis GV70, now with an all

In 2023, Genesis initiated the production of the Electrified GV70 in Alabama, which could be the reason why the updated model is hitting the U.S. market slightly after its release in other regions. Although the Electrified GV70 is manufactured domestically and is priced under the $80,000 threshold for SUVs, it currently does not meet the criteria to benefit from the federal electric vehicle tax incentive.

It appears that Genesis might reverse its previous comprehensive strategy for electric vehicles. Last year, the car manufacturer announced an initiative to exclusively release electric or hydrogen fuel-cell models beginning in 2025, aiming to eliminate traditional combustion engines by the end of the decade. However, there's talk of potentially introducing new hybrid models, such as a hybrid iteration of the GV70.
