Ford Maverick Hybrid 2025: Leistungsstarker Allradantrieb trifft auf Effizienz
The Ford Maverick Hybrid is set to gain a four-wheel drive feature
It can tow up to 1.8 tons for a cost of 26,000 Euros – but unfortunately, it's not available in our region
Similar to Europe's Ranger, the Maverick Pick-up is a popular choice in the USA, and it's slated for significant upgrades in 2025. The most notable update is the addition of four-wheel drive to the 2.5-liter hybrid powertrain, enhancing its towing and payload capacities to compete with the more powerful EcoBoost variant. Additionally, the vehicle will include wireless Apple CarPlay and a redesigned front end.
Customers of the Maverick were highly requesting a mix of hybrid and four-wheel drive features, and Ford has responded to this demand. The performance of the inline four-cylinder engine, based on the Atkinson cycle, remains the same and is assisted by a single electric motor. This combination delivers 194 horsepower and a torque of 210 Nm. As with previous models, a continuously variable transmission is included.

Equipped with four-wheel drive and an optional towing package, this vehicle can handle up to 4,000 pounds (hence the term 4K, which is equivalent to 1,814 kilograms). This towing capacity is made possible by the power of the 2.0-liter EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder engine. However, the payload capacity of the Maverick decreases slightly when it comes with both all-wheel drive and a hybrid system, dropping to just 635 kilograms.
The Maverick 2025 is available in four different trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, and Tremor. The standard powertrain for the first three trims is a hybrid system, while the Tremor exclusively features a powerful 241-horsepower EcoBoost engine. If preferred, the alternative trims can opt for a 2.0-liter engine, which offers 375 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and, as in previous models, comes with all-wheel drive as a standard feature.
The 2025 Maverick is set to undergo a cosmetic revamp, featuring a refreshed grille and headlight design inspired by the Ranger. Inside, a 13.2-inch touchscreen is introduced, compatible with both wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additionally, a 360-degree camera and a 5G modem are included, facilitating updates over the air.
Ford has not disclosed the full pricing or fuel economy figures for the 2025 Maverick, but has indicated that the starting price for the front-wheel-drive hybrid version will be $27,890, delivery fees included. This roughly converts to approximately 26,000 Euros. The company expects to start deliveries in the United States by the end of 2024.
