Facelift ohne Größenwandel: Der Cupra Formentor 2024 behält seine Abmessungen bei steigender Beliebtheit
The 2024 Cupra Formentor: Dimensions and Details of the Refresh
The Spanish SUV has undergone several changes. But does the redesign impact its size?
The Cupra Formentor outperforms popular models from Ford, Toyota, or Renault in the German market. In 2023, over 30,000 units were sold in Germany alone, with a third of those being the electrified version.
The Spanish brand's first in-house development underwent a revamp this spring. Both the exterior and interior design were updated. But were there also changes made to the size and trunk capacity?

The external dimensions of the Cupra Formentor have been maintained in its latest redesign. The widely favored vehicle from the Spanish brand still measures 4.45 meters in length and 1.84 meters in width.
Standing at just 1.52 meters tall, the Formentor continues to be among the most compact SUVs in the C-segment, maintaining its status as one of the most low-slung and athletic in its category.
The Formentor continues to boast high-quality upholstery. It's crafted from various shaped parts produced using 3D printing technology, with a composition of 73 percent recycled vegan microfiber. Key updates include the availability of optional "CUPBucket" seats – identical to those in the VZ5 model – for the VZ models, along with black accents on the steering wheel, air conditioning vents, and the center console.
The cockpit's centerpiece is the latest 12.9-inch infotainment display, situated above a convenient, now illuminated, sliding control for managing the climate and radio volume via touch.
The Cupra stands out technically with its latest audio system, featuring 12 speakers and a power of 425 watts, developed in collaboration with Sennheiser.

The trunk space remains the same at 450 liters for the front-wheel-drive gasoline models (with a maximum capacity of 1,505 liters), whereas the 4Drive model has a minimum volume of 420 liters.
Eight different engines are available for selection, ranging from a 1.5-liter TSI gasoline engine with 150 horsepower to a powerful 2.0-liter TSI engine delivering 333 horsepower, complete with four-wheel drive and a torque splitter. The lineup is further expanded with a 1.5-liter TSI mild-hybrid gasoline engine at 150 horsepower, a 2.0-liter TSI engine available in both 204 and 265 horsepower variants, and a 2.0-liter TDI engine also at 150 horsepower.
Two plug-in hybrid options are available, both utilizing the 1.5-liter TSI engine. Consumers can select from a power output of either 204 or 272 horsepower, paired with a 19.7 kWh battery that allows for an all-electric driving range exceeding 100 kilometers.
Further Details on Formentor
Most competitors of the Formentor offer a larger trunk capacity, though they tend to be slightly longer in size.
This applies to both the Alfa Romeo Tonale, which was also designed by Alejandro Mesonero Romanos, known as the "father" of Cupra, and the Audi Q3 Sportback. The latter shares many of the engines and structural design elements with the Formentor.
