Upcoming Lamborghini Huracan Successor: The Known Details So Far
The reveal is set for mid-August. We're compiling all the clues and information regarding its styling, visuals, powertrain, and potential moniker…
One thing’s for sure: Lamborghini's successor to the Huracan is set to make its debut on August 16, 2024, during the Monterey Car Week, which is just under three weeks away! How can one manage the anticipation? By summarizing all the essential details we've gathered so far.
There's a wealth of information and a few clues about the new Lamborghini Huracan, covering everything from the engine and design to the technology and name (although it won't actually be called that). Let's compile all the details we have so far.
The Design of the Huracan Successor
Let's tackle one of the simpler tasks: discerning the contours of the Huracan's successor through spy shots is feasible, and moreover, these don't stray too far from the brand's signature aesthetic. The familiar Lamborghini wedge shape is defined by its sharp edges and distinct angles, which will be evident on the new supercar from Sant'Agata.
Images often communicate more effectively than a thousand-word description of design, so we've crafted a rendering of the new successor to the Huracan from the spy shots and footage of the prototype – it's unmistakably a Lamborghini.

The Engine
Let's talk about the core component of this driving machine. What information do we have regarding the engine of the new Huracan? One thing is certain – it's not the current V10. That model is being retired to make way for electric technologies. In its place, a plug-in hybrid system will be introduced, powered by a brand new four-liter V8 engine with a twin-turbo, developed in-house by Lamborghini.
The latest model achieves a system output of 900 horsepower and 740 Nm of torque at 10,000 revolutions per minute. By contrast, the most powerful standard production Huracan now seems almost modest with its 640 horsepower.
The engine of the latest Lamborghini Huracan
An electric motor is situated between the V8 engine and an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. Official statements claim that it can add up to 300 Nm of torque and 150 horsepower at 3,500 rpm to the total system performance. Consequently, the characteristic V10 engine sound won't be heard upon ignition, but Lamborghini assures that it will be up to the task. We are subtly intrigued.
Title:
The current internal code for the successor to the Huracan is 634, but it may eventually be called the Lamborghini Temerario. This detail comes from the European Patent Office, where the Sant'Agata-based firm registered the name on April 2, 2024.
The moniker Temerario has been officially registered with the European Patent Office.
The submitted name features a unique font and is associated not just with automotive-related items but also encompasses electronics, apparel, and model-making products.
In the realm of trademark law, there's a prevalent guideline aimed at stopping the unauthorized use of a name for different products. Consequently, after the trademark registration, items like a Lamborghini Temerario cap or an electric scooter can only be produced with permission from Lamborghini.

The Cost
Lamborghinis are expensive! And the successor to the Huracan is expected to be no different. Discussing its cost at this stage is quite premature. Therefore, we can only look to the current Huracan's pricing as a benchmark.
The starting price for these models is currently set at 235,500 euros. Considering all the recent updates, it's likely that the new model will be priced higher.
