Skoda’s Secret Powerhouse: The Superb Combi Sleeper Edition with M3-Power Unveiled
Skoda Superb Combi Sleeper Edition: A Unique Piece with M3 Power
Officially constructed by Skoda, this model boasts over 200 horsepower beyond the most powerful Superb to date.
It's almost eerie that there hasn't been much buzz about this, yet in a way, that's quite fitting for the nature of this vehicle. What you're looking at is a last-generation Skoda Superb Combi that packs a significant amount of power, which isn't immediately apparent.
The so-called Superb Estate Sleeper Edition is actually an official Skoda product, although it's a one-off. It delivers exactly what one would anticipate from a Sleeper Edition. This particular Superb has been transformed into a highly powerful and fast station wagon while maintaining its original appearance as much as possible.

Starting with a robust foundation, the 2.0 TSI engine already delivers a hefty 280 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. This powerhouse enables the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds, reaching speeds of up to 250 km/h. However, that's modest compared to the Sleeper Edition. This version hides a massive 480 horsepower and 661 Nm of torque under its unassuming exterior. For context, that's on par with the power of a current BMW M3, which has 480 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque.
The concept of a 'sleeping giant' in terms of power was conceived by Skoda UK. The vehicle was constructed in partnership with the tuning company RE Performance. Essentially, it serves as a grand farewell to the third generation of the Superb, which ceased production in 2023.
To achieve the rather generous increase in performance, a new Garrett turbocharger was installed, along with modifications to the fuel system, the intake, and the intercooler. Additionally, the exhaust system was upgraded with a custom-made downpipe. Alongside the powertrain enhancements, the Sleeper-Superb was fitted with a KW coilover suspension and a braking system from AP Racing.

The car sits nearly five centimeters lower than the standard model, giving it a noticeably more menacing look and likely enhancing the driving precision. This sizable station wagon retains the four-wheel drive and the 7-speed DSG transmission of the production vehicle.
The group responsible for this vehicle also created the quickest Skoda ever – a 600 horsepower Octavia that hit a top speed of 366 km/h on the Bonneville Salt Flats in 2011.
The premium Superb Sleeper Edition is equipped with the high-end Laurin & Klement configuration, featuring amenities such as brown leather seats, a Canton sound system, and Matrix LED lights. Skoda UK selected Royal Green, a unique paint developed to commemorate the coronation of King Charles III, as its color choice. This speedy estate car is not available for purchase and will be joining Skoda's press fleet in the UK.
Here's what's new with Skoda
