Silverstone to Host Retro Spectacle for MotoGP’s 75th Anniversary with Special Liveries
MotoGP racers will compete in vintage 75th Anniversary designs at Silverstone.
Each motorcycle and rider will sport a unique, commemorative livery for the British MotoGP.
In honor of MotoGP's 75th anniversary, it has been revealed that all motorcycles and riders will compete with unique, one-time 'retro' designs during the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
According to a release by Dorna, each of the 11 teams competing, which include the five manufacturers, will participate with their own unique retro-themed liveries, inspired by various moments in their distinct histories.
The paint schemes will be revealed to the public during the Day of Champions pitlane walk at 2:00 PM on the Thursday preceding the race weekend.
Not only will the riders and bikes embrace a retro theme, but many partners of the sport are also prepared to go vintage. This includes the BMW M Safety Car, podium celebrations, classic exhibitions, and additional elements.
The British Grand Prix, the inaugural race following the summer hiatus, is scheduled to take place from August 2nd to 4th.
The Isle of Man hosted the inaugural official motorcycle grand prix on June 17, 1949.
