Retro Revival: MotoGP to Celebrate 75th Anniversary with Vintage Liveries at Silverstone Grand Prix
MotoGP competitors to don vintage 75th Anniversary designs at Silverstone
Each motorcycle and its rider will participate in the British MotoGP with a unique, commemorative livery.
In celebration of MotoGP's 75th year, a unique announcement has been made: all motorcycles and their racers will don a one-time, vintage-themed design for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
A press release from Dorna stated: "Drawing on elements from their distinct pasts, the 11 squads making up the grid – which encompasses five manufacturing teams – will each compete using a unique, retro-themed livery."
The team colors and designs will be officially revealed to the public at the Day of Champions event, specifically during the pit lane tour at 2:00 PM on the Thursday preceding the race weekend.
The event will not only feature competitors and their motorcycles, but also a nostalgic twist with numerous sport sponsors embracing the throwback theme. This includes everything from the BMW M Safety Car to podium festivities, classic exhibits, and beyond.
The UK Grand Prix, marking the initial race following the summer hiatus, is scheduled to take place from August 2nd to August 4th.
The inaugural motorcycle Grand Prix took place on the Isle of Man on June 17, 1949.
