**Pecco Bagnaia Embraces Ducati’s Bold Move: Marc Marquez Joins as 2025 Teammate**
Unveiled: Pecco Bagnaia's response to Ducati bringing Marc Marquez on board
Ducati: Pecco's reaction was very positive. He didn't try to influence our decision in any way.
Ducati announced that Francesco Bagnaia, the current two-time MotoGP champion, did not attempt to sway the company's choice regarding his teammate for the 2025 season.
Throughout the season, Jorge Martin and Marc Marquez competed fiercely on the race track. Their rivalry extended beyond the track as they vied for the second factory Ducati seat next to Bagnaia.
As Mugello approached, it seemed that Martin had been selected to team up with Bagnaia.
However, Ducati had concerns about potentially losing Marquez to a competing manufacturer. This led to a change in their stance, resulting in the decision to sign the eight-time world champion.
According to Gigi Dall’Igna, the General Manager of Ducati Corse, Bagnaia, despite expressing his desire for current teammate Enea Bastianini to remain with the team, did not impact Ducati's decision-making process.
Pecco's response was excellent," Dall’Igna shared with MotoGP.com. "He is a seasoned rider and a champion, fully aware that we aim to provide the best opportunities to contend for the world title.
In the past, he was open to having Enea as a teammate due to their good relationship. However, as a professional rider, he respected our decision in the end and did not try to influence us.
In 2025, Ducati's MotoGP team will feature one of the most formidable line-ups ever, undoubtedly boasting their most skilled riders to date.
Marquez and Bagnaia have demonstrated their intense and combative nature when competing against one another.
This raises the question: can they function effectively as team members?
Dall’Igna is confident they can achieve it, stating: “We must be skilled enough to accomplish this. It won't be simple, but frankly, I'm familiar with the team and the individuals who work under me.
"By collaborating as we have previously, we can accomplish this."
