It has been alleged that Marc Marquez played a pivotal role in thwarting a prospective agreement between Ducati and Jorge Martin due to a clause in the contract related to him.

Marquez has secured the 2025 official Ducati following a significant reversal by Ducati.

Just days before the Italian MotoGP, the Italian manufacturer extended an offer to Martin for the seat, but had to quickly devise an alternative strategy after Marquez declined to accept a position with Pramac.

Martin has officially joined Aprilia for the upcoming season, while Marquez has been confirmed to be part of the factory Ducati team.

Last week, Martin agreed to join Ducati's official team in 2025, featuring a fascinating condition in the contract, according to AS.

The provision specified that the sought-after red bicycle would belong to Martin, provided that Marquez did not secure the MotoGP championship title this year.

Martin agreed to the conditions, whereas Marquez declined.

Martin is currently at the forefront of the championship standings, surpassing the defending champion Pecco Bagnaia and Marquez.

It could be said that his agreement to those conditions reflected his confidence in securing the championship this year, a goal he fell short of achieving in Valencia the previous season.

However, the agreement was no longer an option when Marquez suddenly stood his ground.

His decision not to transfer to Pramac, despite their promise of a factory package and support, appeared to be the crucial factor in tipping the scales back in his favor for the official 2025 motorcycle.

Martin decided to confirm his transition to Aprilia shortly after it was evident that he wouldn't be chosen for the highly sought-after Ducati position.
