Jack Miller’s MotoGP Future Hangs in Balance as KTM Offers Tech3 GASGAS Reprieve Amid Acosta Promotion
KTM's top executive reveals that Jack Miller is contemplating his future with the team, whether to stay or move on. KTM provides an update on Miller's plans for the 202
The future of Jack Miller in MotoGP remains uncertain.
KTM has confirmed that Pedro Acosta will join their 2025 MotoGP rider lineup, replacing the current rider.
However, he has been given a chance to remain with the Tech3 GASGAS team for the next season, essentially trading spots with Acosta.
KTM team manager Francesco Guidotti informed TNT Sports, "We are in discussions with Jack."
"We hope he remains involved in the project."
“Certainly, he is considering it.
"This moment presents a chance not just for the teams, but for the riders as well."
"Each individual must take responsibility for their own work and strive to maximize the potential of their circumstances."
KTM has announced that Brad Binder, who had already signed a long-term contract, will team up with Acosta next season in their official squad.
If Miller chooses to join the Tech3 team and ride their red bike, he would be moving to a satellite team. Nevertheless, the manufacturer considers all four of their MotoGP team spots to be on the same level.
KTM motorsport director Pit Beirer mentioned last month that their team has secured four spots in MotoGP.
“We typically examine all four locations to optimize our results.”
Miller has asserted that he no longer considers Tech3 a satellite team. In his view, it is equivalent to a factory bike, only painted red. He believes this is a well-known fact.
With Miller's contract nearing its end and his current bike being reassigned, there are rumors connecting him to a potential move to Honda.
Honda is actively working to regain their leading position in MotoGP, enlisting the help of seasoned racers such as Luca Marini and Johann Zarco, who joined the team this year.
Nevertheless, KTM has consistently expressed their wish for Miller to stay on.
Their main focus is to assist their existing riders, such as Augusto Fernandez, in attaining the necessary outcomes to remain.
However, Acosta's impressive debut in the top-tier category could lead to indirect consequences following the decision to advance him.
Miller is aware that the spot at Tech3 GASGAS is available for him if he chooses to take it. However, other companies are also interested in acquiring his skills.
