Jack Miller Open to Tech3 Move Amidst Acosta’s Promotion to Red Bull KTM for 2025
Jack Miller's Opinion on Potential Switch to Tech3 – and Pedro Acosta Taking His Spot
Jack Miller: "Joining this initiative wasn't about exiting in just two years."
Jack Miller acknowledges that it made sense for the Red Bull KTM team to elevate promising newcomer Pedro Acosta to their ranks for the 2025 season.
Having secured Brad Binder until 2026, Acosta is set to transition from GASGAS Tech3 to fill the position left by Miller in the 'orange' team area.
However, the Australian emphasized that he didn't join the project intending to exit after just two years and would definitely be open to continuing on an RC16 by moving to the Tech3 seat.
"Miller praised Acosta's performance throughout the season, highlighting his exceptional skills as a rookie and describing him as a rare talent. He expressed that promoting him to the factory team was a sensible decision."
"We'll find a place [somewhere], I'm not overly worried. I just wish for more favorable outcomes to give myself a bit of an edge."
"Clearly, my goal wasn't to exit the project two years in. That's not what I planned," he further stated.
"We've achieved significant progress in this project, and I believe we can further develop this motorcycle into one that will halt the dominance of the red [Ducati]."
Would Miller be satisfied with pursuing his efforts at Tech3?
"Absolutely," Miller expressed. "I'm convinced that Tech3 has transcended its status as a satellite team. It's essentially a [KTM] factory bike, just in red. We're aware of that.
"As I mentioned before, my intention in taking this job wasn't to leave after just two years without enjoying the perks."
"These initiatives require a significant amount of time to develop, which explains the ups and downs experienced during the creation of something valuable. It's part of the process."
"My attention has always remained steadfast in this regard. My grasp of the motorcycle and efforts to enhance it have constantly been a priority, and my dedication to off-track activities has never diminished. I'm putting in more effort than ever before."
"I have great admiration for the team at KTM. It's impressive how much they've achieved in so little time… Let's see what happens next."
Miller, who has previously secured victories with Marc VDS Honda (once) and Ducati (three times), achieved his first and to date, only podium finish with KTM in MotoGP during the previous year's Spanish Grand Prix.
The individual from Australia achieved their highest placement of fifth in the current season, yet they find themselves ranked 16th in the global championship, having encountered crashes in three of the past four races held on Sundays.
Enea Bastianini, who succeeded Miller in the factory Ducati position in 2023, is now anticipated to join Tech3, leaving the RC16, presently ridden by Augusto Fernandez, as the only seat seemingly up for grabs.
Fernandez ranks 17th in the global championship standings, following a challenging beginning to his sophomore season in the top-tier category.
