Genesis Unveils Luxurious and Spacious 2026 Electrified G80 at Busan Auto Show
The 2026 Genesis Electrified G80 prioritizes opulence and relaxation.
Genesis has unveiled a refreshed model of its Electrified G80, a mere two years since the electric midsize sedan was initially launched in the market.
The vehicle was officially unveiled this Thursday at the 2024 Busan automotive exhibition in Korea and is set to hit the U.S. market as a model for the year 2026. Indications suggest it will be up for purchase in dealerships at some point next year.
The existing Electrified G80 is a remarkable four-door car, and instead of altering its successful combination, Genesis concentrated on enhancing the vehicle's sophistication and elevating its opulent attributes.
The primary enhancement involves an extended wheelbase by approximately 5.1 inches, offering increased leg space for those seated in the back. Furthermore, Genesis has implemented modifications to diminish the levels of noise, vibration, and roughness.

The Electrified G80, despite being in the less expensive sub-$80,000 category, now offers features typically found in high-end luxury cars. Among these are a button-operated door closing mechanism, a curtain for the back window, and deluxe seating with leg supports for a more executive feel.
Additional updates feature an innovative 27-inch screen that merges a digital instrument panel with the entertainment system, an updated design for the front end, modern 19-inch wheels with a dish design, a charging port cover that operates electronically, and advanced headlights that incorporate micro-lens array technology. This technology utilizes a multitude of small lenses to concentrate the LED light, delivering a more intense and refined illumination.
Genesis has not indicated any modifications to the engine system. The existing Electrified G80 model is equipped with a two-motor all-wheel drive system that delivers 365 horsepower. It features a single 87.2-kWh battery. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates that this vehicle can travel 282 miles on a single charge.
Genesis has stated that the American market specifications for the 2026 Electrified G80 are not finalized and will be disclosed in the future.
