The leading producer in the top-tier category created a stir this week by selecting Marquez for their 2025 factory squad.
A few days ago, it appeared that Martin would be chosen, but Marquez turned down Ducati's offer to race for Pramac.
In a fortnight, MotoGP will make its comeback in Assen, with the destinies of its top riders now determined.
Ducati will soon have to address inquiries regarding their arrangements with four of their current championship contenders, especially with Martin and Enea Bastianini departing at the conclusion of the year.
During a podcast, host Jordan Moreland inquired, "Will this alter Ducati's approach in not backing [Martin]?"
"Will this affect your relationship with Marquez?"
"At this point, he’s likely urging Ducati to provide updates for the 2023 model, so it aligns with the newest specifications."
Peter McLaren stated that all of those questions are now being considered.
“If Martin has a tough weekend or faces difficulties, people will question whether he’s receiving all the support he possibly needs. This is especially pertinent considering that if he secures a victory, he would be bringing the top position to a competing Italian manufacturer.”
“Let’s remember that. This isn’t just any factory; it’s an Italian factory!”
Meanwhile, Marquez is urging, "Come on, everyone, give me a hand and support me. I'll be your factory rider next year, so whether I win or Pecco wins, the victory will still belong to Ducati next year."
“It will be very challenging for Ducati to ensure that everyone receives the best possible treatment while managing all these aspects.”
After seven rounds, Pramac's Martin is at the top of the MotoGP leaderboard.
He leads Pecco Bagnaia, the official Ducati racer and current titleholder, by 18 points.
Martin leads by 35 points over Marquez, the rider from the Gresini team who is in third place.
Enea Bastianini, who is in fourth position, trails the leader by 54 points.
