Corvette ZR1 Wahnsinn: 5 Fakten, die die Supersportwagen-Welt auf den Kopf stellen
Five Astonishing Facts About the Latest Corvette ZR1 That Sound Almost Unbelievable
This machine boasts a power-to-weight ratio that surpasses the Bugatti Veyron…
The latest beast from Chevrolet, the Corvette ZR1, has arrived, and it's absolutely mind-blowing. Equipped with a 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, this American performance car pumps out 1,064 horsepower (which equates to 1,079 metric horsepower) and generates a torque of 1,122 Newton-meters, propelling it to a top speed of 346 kilometers per hour.
The performance figures for the ZR1 are impressive on their own. However, it's when you stack them up against other sports cars, supercars, and even hypercars that you truly grasp the sheer madness of this American beast.

Outperforming the Mercedes-AMG One, the latest AMG hypercar falls short despite boasting an F1 engine, state-of-the-art suspension, and a hefty $5.5 million price tag. The ZR1 edges out with a powerful 1,079 horsepower compared to the AMG One's 1,063 horsepower. Checkmate, Germany.
The ZR1 supercar's 5.5-liter V8 engine nearly matches the torque of a Ram 2500 Diesel pick-up, renowned for their formidable torque. With the ZR1 producing 1,122 Nm of torque, it falls just short of the pick-up's 1,152 Nm, a margin that's hardly significant.
She boasts an impressive power-to-weight ratio: While Chevrolet has only released the dry weight for the ZR1, an exact figure for the power-to-weight ratio is not yet available. However, using the ZR1's stated dry weight of 3,760 pounds (1,705 kilograms) as a rough estimate, the car would have a power-to-weight ratio of approximately 580 horsepower per ton. Even when accounting for fluids, the ZR1 would still outperform the Bugatti Veyron (474 horsepower/ton) and the Porsche 918 (485 horsepower/ton).
The Chevy, cited at a dry weight of 1,705 kg, is significantly lighter than a Tesla or Lucid, with a weight difference of 450 kg. It's not clear what the exact comparison in weight would be with the Tesla Model S Plaid or the top 20 most powerful cars globally since only the dry weight is provided. However, based on this figure, the Super-Vette weighs a remarkable 497 kg less than the Model S and 755 kg less than the Air Sapphire. Even accounting for the weight of fluids, the ZR1 will still be substantially lighter than either of these high-performance electric vehicles.
Vehicles of Extremes:
She boasts more downforce than a Huracan STO: With the available ZTK package, which includes a rear wing, front dive planes, and a Gurney flap on the hood, the Corvette ZR1 delivers up to 544 kg of downforce. While this might not stack up against certain other street-legal race cars (for example, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS generates 860 kg), it still surpasses the downforce of a Lamborghini Huracan STO, which is at 420 kg, and that of many others.
