Audi Issues Recall for Over 9,600 E-Tron GT Models Due to Front Brake Hose Defects
Audi has issued a recall for 9,653 of its E-Tron GT vehicles due to a potential issue where the front brake hoses might rip and leak fluid.
The call back includes the regular E-Tron GT as well as the high-performance RS E-Tron GT four-door cars from the 2022 to 2024 model years. The issue, as identified by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), is with the front brake hoses which may not withstand the typical bending and movement that occurs during use. This defect could result in the material of the hoses developing cracks, potentially leading to leaks of brake fluid.

Should this issue arise, motorists might experience an extended distance when pressing the brake pedal, or observe an alert on the instrument panel, according to Audi. The company noted that although there have been a couple of warranty claims regarding this issue, they have no knowledge of any accidents or harm connected to the problem.
Audi showrooms are set to change the front brake lines at no cost to the vehicle owner. The car manufacturer plans to send out notifications to the owners on the 16th of August, 2024. For more information, vehicle owners can either check the recall section on Audi's website or get in touch with Audi directly by dialing 1-800-253-2834, mentioning the recall code 47UP. Alternatively, they can reach out to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration by calling 1-888-327-4236 and quoting the recall code 24V465
Upcoming 2024 model of the Audi e-tron
Porsche is issuing a recall for its Taycan model, which utilizes the same J1 platform and 800-volt electrical system as the E-Tron GT, due to an issue with the front brake hoses that may develop cracks and cause leaks. This recall affects a total of 31,689 vehicles spanning the 2022 to 2025 model years. Porsche will be providing replacements for the faulty front brake hoses at no cost to the owners.
The latest model year, 2022, saw the introduction of the E-Tron GT, which recently received improvements enhancing its energy use and driving distance capabilities. Audi is revising its model offerings by discontinuing the entry-level E-Tron GT and introducing a fresh variant, the S E-Tron GT. This repositioning places the RS E-Tron GT in an intermediate position, while a newly established RS E-Tron GT Performance level takes the top spot. Information regarding the release date in the United States will be disclosed later in the year.
