Andrea Dovizioso Hails Marquez’s Rapid Ducati Adaptation, Anticipates Thrilling Three-Way MotoGP Title Showdown
Andrea Dovizioso: “Marc's quick adjustment to Ducati is remarkable.”
Andrea Dovizioso commented, “Marc [Marquez] is incredibly talented, and his swift adaptation to Ducati is truly impressive.”
Andrea Dovizioso predicts that the battle for the 2024 MotoGP championship will be a close contest involving three riders until the very end.
Jorge Martin, having dominated most of the season, holds an 18-point lead over Francesco Bagnaia, with Marc Marquez trailing closely, even though he is riding the GP23 bike.
Marquez has not secured a victory this season, whereas Martin and Bagnaia have won several races, including sprint events.
Dovizioso, who often challenged Marquez for the championship during his time with Ducati, believes the title race will stay competitive.
In an interview with MotoGP.com, Dovizioso expressed his excitement, noting that the races have been thrilling since the bikes are quite similar, allowing for intense competition in each event.
"There aren't many fluctuations. It's quite pleasant. The riders are diverse in terms of age and bikes, making it unpredictable. It'll be enjoyable all the way to the finish."
Dovizioso has expressed great admiration for Marquez's transition to Ducati. Earlier this week, Marquez, an eight-time world champion, confirmed his place on the factory Lenovo Ducati team for 2025.
Dovizioso mentioned that there are high expectations for Marc. He noted that Marc is extremely talented and believes that Marc's quick adaptation to Ducati is truly remarkable, given how challenging it is.
"Despite the bike being among the top models, his braking method was entirely distinct up until this year, and he needed to adapt his braking approach."
"In my view, it’s still not completely there yet, but it’s close. This is yet another testament to his talent."
"He can compete there even without a factory motorcycle. However, I believe he has a bit more potential to improve."
