On a Wednesday unveiling, Cadillac introduced the 2025 Escalade IQ model, boasting an anticipated 460-mile range from a battery exceeding 200 kWh, a dashboard adorned with 55 inches of screen space, and its signature styling. The high-end electric SUV is projected by Cadillac to be priced at $129,095, which encompasses a $1,395 fee for delivery, with manufacturing set to commence in 2024 at GM's Factory Zero.
2025 Model of the Cadillac Escalade,
The high-end electric SUV shares its foundation with the GMC Hummer EV and the Silverado EV pickups. It's built around a large battery composed of 24 units, which we approximate to hold 205 kilowatt-hours of energy. The Escalade IQ is equipped with an electrical system that operates at 800 volts, allowing it to gain 100 miles of driving distance in a mere 10 minutes when using a 350-kilowatt DC rapid charging station, as per GM's statement. Additionally, the ability to charge in both directions will come as a default feature.
The upcoming Escalade IQ models are equipped with dual electric motors situated on each axle, enabling an all-wheel-drive system. These motors deliver a potent combination of up to 750 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque. Cadillac has announced that this sizable SUV can accelerate from a standstill to 60 mph in under five seconds, thanks to its Velocity Max mode. Features like one-pedal driving and General Motors' regenerative braking on demand will come as standard in these vehicles.
Cadillac projects that their Escalade IQ model will have a towing capacity of up to 8,000 pounds.
2025 Model of the Cadillac Escalade,
Cadillac has announced that the Escalade IQ positions itself between the standard and extended versions of the conventional fuel variant in terms of size. With a total length of 224.3 inches, it comes very close to the extended version, missing it by just 2.7 inches. Interestingly, the electric version of the Escalade boasts a wheelbase that stretches 136.2 inches, surpassing the extended gas model's wheelbase by 2.1 inches. This increase in wheelbase length was achieved by shifting the position of the front wheels forward by 11.8 inches, leading to a decrease in the front overhang. Additionally, the vehicle features a front storage compartment of 12.2 cubic feet beneath its elongated hood.
Cadillac has incorporated the rear-wheel steering mechanism, initially used in the Hummer EV and Silverado EV, into the Escalade IQ. This feature allows the vehicle to move sideways into a parking space, a function they've dubbed Cadillac Arrival Mode instead of Crab Walking. It also reduces the vehicle's turning circle by 6.5 feet, achieving a new radius of 39.4 feet. Additionally, the SUV boasts a combination of four-wheel independent suspension with a four-corner air suspension system and adaptive dampers.
2025 Model of Cadillac Escalade Named IQ
The Escalade IQ bears resemblance to the traditional Escalade model, yet stands out with unique design elements. It maintains the classic boxy silhouette and vertical light fixtures, while the front showcases a fresh interpretation of the signature Cadillac shield-style backlight grille. The roof is designed to be more streamlined, with a subtle incline, achieving a 15% improvement in aerodynamic efficiency compared to the gasoline variant. It also boasts substantial 24-inch rims enveloped in 275/50R24 tires that span 35 inches, perfectly fitting into the wheel arches.
2025 Model of the Cadillac Escalade,
The interior of the Escalade IQ features an impressive 55-inch display that stretches across the dashboard, with 35 inches allocated for the digital gauges and main touchscreen, complemented by a 20-inch screen for the passenger. Additionally, there's an 11-inch touchscreen on the center console for adjusting the climate and other car settings. However, in a significant move by GM, both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto have been omitted from the in-car technology offerings for its future electric vehicles.
Upcoming 2025 Model of the Cadillac Esc
The Escalade IQ offers seating for seven with its three-row arrangement. Opt for the Executive Second Row package and you'll get heated, cooled, and massaging bucket seats in the second row, mirroring the amenities of the front row. This package also includes a backseat center console with pop-up tables reminiscent of those on airplanes, dual 12.6-inch screens for rear-seat entertainment, and wireless charging pads for smartphones. An 8.0-inch touchscreen acts as the control hub. However, Cadillac has chosen to use faux leather for the upholstery, steering clear of genuine leather in the Escalade IQ.
The Super Cruise system by GM, which allows for hands-free driving assistance, will come as a standard feature. Additionally, the vehicle will be equipped with standard features such as an auto emergency braking system that detects pedestrians, monitors for blind spots, an automated parking system, and a camera system that provides a 360-degree view.
