Ford Capri (2024): A Closer Look Inside
Cabin Space, Seating Capacity, Trunk Space: We’ve Got the Details
The Ford Capri makes a comeback in a form quite different from the one we recall. The latest Capri model ditches the coupe style of the 60s version, emerging as a sleek coupe-SUV with design cues similar to the Volkswagen ID.5.
In fact, the platform in question is the MEB, which also underpins the battery-powered SUVs from Wolfsburg and the Ford Explorer. However, the distinctions from its German "cousins" are clear, including differences in the interior. So, let's get into the Capri to explore every aspect.

The Dashboard
A glance at the Capri's interior gives the impression of being in a highly digitized vehicle. The dashboard is designed with minimalism in mind, with the air conditioning vents seamlessly incorporated into the dashboard's design.

Adjacent to the driver's compact 5-inch instrument cluster screen is a 14.6-inch infotainment system display that can be tilted up to 30 degrees. Essentially, it serves as Ford's control hub, allowing management of every aspect of the vehicle, ranging from heated seats and massage options to wireless integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The screen is designed to slide a few centimeters to reveal a concealed compartment dubbed "MyPrivate Locker," ideal for storing small valuables. Additionally, tucked beneath the center armrest, there's a substantial storage space called the MegaConsole, boasting a capacity of 17 liters, large enough to accommodate a 15-inch laptop.
The basic audio setup includes seven speakers, featuring a soundbar, while the high-end models are equipped with a Bang & Olufsen system that comes with 10 speakers and an additional subwoofer.
Interior Design and Materials
The interior of the Ford creates a favorable impression through its choice of materials. Even the entry-level models come with Sensico leather seats in Black Onyx shades, and the dashboard is adorned with soft materials featuring contrasting colors.
The Ford Capri, an Ultimate Gaming System
The steering wheel boasts a unique design, featuring a flattened top and bottom, while the decorative trims in piano black and brushed aluminum add a touch of sophistication.
Cabin Space
The space inside the Capri is surprisingly ample. Even with the sloping roofline in the rear, tall and larger passengers can comfortably fit, enjoying sufficient legroom.
The trunk of the Ford Capri
The electric tailgate, operational through a convenient sensor located beneath the rear bumper, effortlessly opens to reveal a trunk capacity of at least 572 liters. This size surpasses the average for its class and can be increased to 1,510 liters by folding down the rear seats.
