Pramac Racing Bids Emotional Farewell to Jorge Martin Ahead of Aprilia Move: Aiming for Championship Glory Together
Pramac's leadership shares a heartfelt goodbye to Jorge Martin following his decision to join Aprilia
"Our journey together has been remarkable, and we continue to concentrate on the objective we established last year."
The leaders of Pramac Racing have penned a heartfelt farewell to Jorge Martin, yet they maintain the ambition of securing the MotoGP title together before parting ways.
On Monday, Martin sent shockwaves through the MotoGP universe by officially announcing his move to Aprilia for the 2025 season.
His choice was made following a clear shift in Ducati's stance, initially moving away from giving Martin the primary seat and opting to provide the motorcycle to Marc Marquez instead.
Paolo Campinoti, the head of the Pramac team, expressed: "We brought a promising newcomer into our squad, and now we find ourselves collaborating with one of the top competitors in the MotoGP lineup.
"The strides we've taken as a team are truly remarkable, and we continue to be dedicated to achieving the objective we established at the conclusion of the previous year."
"Following the Valencia Grand Prix, we will bid farewell to Martin, extending our best wishes for his future endeavors."
Gino Borsoi, the team leader, expressed his appreciation and pride in collaborating with Jorge, whom he regards as one of the most skilled and gifted riders he has encountered.
"Moving forward, we are committed to putting in our utmost effort to attain the greatest success as a team, maintaining our concentration on this season, which has had an excellent beginning."
"I wish for Jorge to find joy in the remaining season with us now that he has made a decision regarding his future."
Martin mentioned that following his weekend podium finish at the Italian MotoGP, the commotion surrounding his career prospects had diverted his attention.
At that time, he anticipated joining Ducati's official team in 2025, but just a day later, he found himself signing a deal with Aprilia.
Martin is currently at the forefront of the MotoGP championship after competing in seven rounds
Defending titleholder Pecco Bagnaia and Marquez, who is lined up for the 2025 official motorcycle, trail behind him.
However, the high-performing Martin, who came close to clinching last year's championship in the final round against Bagnaia, stands a strong chance of achieving the extraordinary feat of securing the MotoGP title with a non-factory team.
