Pecco Bagnaia Battles Neck and Shoulder Pain After Aragon MotoGP Crash with Alex Marquez
Pecco Bagnaia "in significant pain" following crash with Alex Marquez at Aragon MotoGP
Francesco Bagnaia reported experiencing pain in his neck and shoulder after his collision with Alex Marquez during the Aragon MotoGP.
Francesco Bagnaia has shared information about the injuries he is suffering from following his collision with Alex Marquez during the Aragon MotoGP last weekend.
After Marquez veered off course at turn 12 during the 18th lap of the Grand Prix, he and Bagnaia made contact. Bagnaia, who had initially started in third place but fell to seventh due to a poor start, was working his way back up the field and appeared poised to snatch the last podium spot from Marquez.
The Italian rider attempted to capitalize on a mistake made by Marquez at turn 12 by making a move around turn 13, but the collision that ensued forced both competitors to withdraw from the race.
Bagnaia experienced a difficult moment when he tumbled under Marquez's bike, leading him to visit the medical center for evaluation.
In an interview with MotoGP.com following the Aragon race, Bagnaia mentioned experiencing "neck pain," but he also noted that "it could be a lot worse, so it's manageable."

In an Instagram story addressing the accident, Bagnaia mentioned that he was experiencing discomfort in his left shoulder.
In his statement, Bagnaia explained that he seized the opportunity when Alex Marquez went wide, allowing him to overtake. He also took a wider line into the next corner, aware of another rider's presence. He expressed regret that the weekend had been tough and that the situation concluded as it did.
"Following a challenging beginning — caused by the difficult conditions at that position on the grid — I was making a strong recovery and was significantly faster. Currently, I'm experiencing considerable pain, particularly in my left shoulder, but it appears that nothing is fractured."
"We aim to be in top shape for Misano."
As the San Marino Grand Prix approaches this weekend, Bagnaia has just four days to regain his physical condition before practice starts for his home race. This scenario is quite similar to last year when he had a crash at the Catalan Grand Prix and arrived at Misano with injuries to his legs.
Bagnaia secured third place in both the Sprint and Grand Prix last year, even though he was dealing with injuries. However, the impact of his crash in Aragon on his performance in Misano won't be known until practice begins on Friday morning.
