The highlighted attributes Jack Miller could contribute to Pramac
Pramac Yamaha has earned praise for strategically signing riders with experience from competing bike brands.
Miguel Oliveira, presently with Trackhouse Aprilia, has been officially announced as the inaugural rider for Pramac's forthcoming chapter, as they transition from Ducati to Yamaha starting in 2025.
Jack Miller, presently with KTM, is poised to join Oliveira in Yamaha's upcoming satellite initiative.
"According to conversations with individuals within the racing area, the consensus is that it's a positive acquisition," noted Neil Hodgson from TNT Sports regarding Miller.
"Yamaha finds itself at a disadvantage, trailing behind European competitors. There's a pressing need for them to enhance their motorcycle."
"Why not opt for someone like Miller, who brings experience from working with three distinct manufacturers, for your development needs?"
"Oliveira also brings a wealth of experience to the table, with both having secured grand prix victories."
It's undeniable that they might not be at the peak of their careers, yet it's likely they've reached the zenith of their growth and expertise.
"That's the acquisition Yamaha has made. It's an excellent addition for Pramac."
Michael Laverty remarked, "Although Oliveira has raced for both KTM and Aprilia, he has yet to fulfill the high expectations set for him. He's a perceptive and knowledgeable rider with a knack for development.
Similarly, when Miller transitioned from Ducati to KTM, he nearly stabilized their approach to race weekends and introduced new components.
"He contributed expertise and skills, aiding in the establishment of an improved system within the garage during race weekends."
"Yamaha is acquiring in-depth insight into Aprilia and KTM. This strategy is astute."
"Max Bartolini could have played a crucial role, given his experience collaborating with Miller at Ducati. He understands Miller's potential. It was a unanimous sentiment that Miller's departure came prematurely in his career; no one was ready to see him go."
Miller's collaboration with former Ducati technician Bartolini, who currently heads Yamaha's engineering team, presents an exciting possibility.
Renowned Australian rider Miller was facing the possibility of being cut from MotoGP after losing his spot with KTM, and he even discussed what could have been his last moments in the top tier of the sport.
He has competed for Honda, Ducati, and KTM in the MotoGP championships.
During his time in MotoGP, Oliveira has competed on both KTM and Aprilia motorcycles.
Pramac Yamaha chose to go with two experienced riders, even though there were strong connections with various promising Moto2 talents.
