Paolo Pavesio to take on role of managing director in 2025
Paolo Pavesio has been appointed to succeed Lin Jarvis at Yamaha.
Pavesio is set to take on the role of managing director at Yamaha Motor Racing starting January 1, 2025.
He once held the position of Director of Marketing and Motorsport at Yamaha Motor Europe. During his tenure, he reorganized the motorsport department, which subsequently achieved world championship victories in World Superbikes, the Endurance World Championship (EWC), and the Motocross World Championship (MX
Pavesio is taking over from Jarvis, who will conclude his 26-year leadership of Yamaha.
Jarvis guided Yamaha to achieve eight rider championships, six manufacturer championships, and seven team championships. He managed the peak periods for the Japanese company with riders Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo, and also their latest championship win with Fabio Quartararo.
Even though Jarvis is stepping down from his role as managing director, he will continue to serve Yamaha in the capacity of Senior Advisor.
Takahiro Sumi, who is the General Manager of the Motor Sports Development Division, expressed his gratitude to Lin for his 26 years of dedication and accomplishments, both personally and on behalf of Yamaha.
"His dedication, hard work, and leadership have played a crucial role in Yamaha's achievements in MotoGP, and I am pleased that we will continue to benefit from his expertise in the future."
Paolo Pavesio is set to take over as Managing Director from Lin. Pavesio comes with extensive experience from his tenure at YME, where he served as the Marketing and Motorsport Director. During his time there, he successfully led Yamaha teams to secure World Championship titles in WorldSBK, EWC, and MXGP.
