Marc Marquez Triumphs at Aragon GP Amidst Drama: Bagnaia Crashes Out in Clash with Alex Marquez
At the Aragon MotoGP Grand Prix, Marc Marquez showcased his superiority by leading from start to finish, while an incident involving Pecco Bagnaia and Alex Marquez ended Bagnaia's race prematurely.
At the Aragon Grand Prix, Marc Marquez clinched his initial Grand Prix win in more than 1,000 days, achieving it with a commanding performance.
Dominating from the start to the finish, Marquez showcased remarkable speed and ultimately secured victory, finishing nearly five seconds ahead of Jorge Martin.
Martin widened his lead in the championship to 23 points by finishing in second place, following Francesco Bagnaia's crash after a collision with Alex Marquez, who also fell during the incident.
Bagnaia skillfully navigated his way up the ranks, overcoming an initial setback caused by his rear tyre spinning on the less clean part of the starting grid. He quickly moved from seventh to sixth position following Miguel Oliveira's fall, then advanced to fifth as Franco Morbidelli went off track, and finally secured fourth place after pressuring Pedro Acosta into an error at turn 16.
After a series of laps aimed at closing the gap on Marques, who deviated from his line at turn 12, Bagnaia seized the opportunity to overtake him entering turn 13. However, during the maneuver into turn 13, Bagnaia and Marquez collided and both riders went down.
Following the race, Bagnaia was taken to the medical center, however, there has been no information released regarding his state.
The collision between the pair elevated Pedro Acosta to third position, though he was nearly 15 seconds adrift of the victor.
Brad Binder secured the fourth position, while Enea Bastianini climbed up to fifth place from a 14th-place start. Franco Morbidelli finished in sixth, followed by Fabio Di Giannantonio, Marco Bezzecchi, Alex Rins, and Jack Miller, who completed the top ten.
Fabio Quartararo experienced a crash, and Maverick Vinales withdrew from the race as well.
Following the race, inquiries were initiated into Fabio Di Giannantonio, Jack Miller, and Raul Fernandez regarding the pressure of their front tyres.
