**Jorge Martin Joins Aprilia for 2025 MotoGP Season, Paving Way for Marc Marquez’s Ducati Return**
Confirmed: Jorge Martin to Ride for Aprilia in MotoGP 2025!
Leading the MotoGP standings, Jorge Martin will be part of the Aprilia team for the 2025 season, which paves the way for Marc Marquez to team up with Francesco Bagnaia at Ducati.
Following closely after news broke that Marc Marquez has secured the 2025 factory Ducati position, overtaking current title leader Jorge Martin, Aprilia has officially confirmed that Martin will take over from the retiring Aleix Espargaro in the upcoming season.
Martin has entered into a contract spanning multiple years with Aprilia, finalized quickly after discussions with Piaggio's leader, Michele Colaninno, on Sunday evening.

"Jorge is a crucial element in our relentless journey towards our highly sought-after goal at Aprilia Racing," stated Massimo Rivola, CEO of Aprilia Racing.
"Grateful to Dr. Michele Colaninno for the chance, we had a discussion last night and swiftly reached a conclusion."
The announcement wraps up a thrilling weekend at Mugello for Martin, who has been riding for Pramac since he entered MotoGP in 2021 and has now been passed over twice for the official Ducati team position.
Sources suggested that Martin was expected to join Francesco Bagnaia as his future teammate at Ducati just before the Mugello weekend. However, Ducati was taken by surprise when Marquez declined an offer to transfer from Gresini to Martin's factory-spec bike at Pramac.
Concerned about the possibility of losing their eight-time world champion entirely, Ducati appears to have made a significant change in strategy. They seem to be willing to let go of Martin, as well as Bagnaia's current teammate Enea Bastianini, in order to retain Marquez.
Martin had consistently stated that he would not stay with Ducati as a satellite rider, leading him to join Aprilia.
It remains unclear whether Martin was formally notified that he wouldn't secure the 2025 factory Ducati position or if he just decided not to wait any longer and acted independently.
The news about Martin joining Aprilia was shared through a brief video on social media that included Espargaro, suggesting the agreement was made at the eleventh hour.
The young racer from Spain is ahead of the current two-time champion Bagnaia by 18 points. If he maintains this lead, he could become the first satellite team rider to win the MotoGP championship and might bring the #1 plate to Aprilia next season.
Martin's transition nearly guarantees that Marc Marquez will join Ducati as an official rider in 2025. This move will reinstate his #93 to the top-tier factory level he once had with Repsol Honda, following his notable performances in seven races on a year-old Gresini GP23.
Bastianini is expected to move to GASGAS Tech3, and Pramac's future is uncertain once more. With both Martin and Marquez no longer options, Yamaha's satellite team proposal might seem more appealing.
Maverick Vinales, who is presently Espargaro's teammate at Aprilia, has not yet committed to a contract for the year 2025.
