Jobless Jack: Miller Eyes New Horizons After KTM Exit
"Unemployed" Jack Miller discloses discussions about joining a competing company after being rejected by KTM.
"I'm currently on unemployment benefits. That's just the situation."
Jack Miller has acknowledged that he is negotiating with different manufacturers as KTM's roster becomes full.
The well-liked Australian rider will not be included in KTM's factory team for the 2025 MotoGP season.
Tech3 KTM has announced that Maverick Vinales and Enea Bastianini will be their riders for the next season, leaving no spot for Miller.
Miller refers to himself as "unemployed" following the announcement that Pedro Acosta will take his place next year, joining Brad Binder.
"I'm currently receiving unemployment benefits," Miller mentioned prior to the announcement from Tech3. "That's just the way things are."
"A sensible decision by KTM. Naturally, I am saddened that my tenure with the factory team is coming to an end."
"[Acosta] is very skilled. We have not demonstrated what was necessary."
“It makes sense. We’ll aim to achieve improved outcomes in upcoming races. Not that I haven’t been putting in the effort already, but we’ll continue to strive for better results in the next few Grand Prix events.”
KTM team boss Francesco Guidotti initially expressed that they want him to remain involved in the project, specifically with a position on the Tech3 GASGAS team.
Hubert Trunkenpolz from Pierer Mobility Group mentioned that their aim was to place two riders at Tech3 GASGAS who have secured a podium finish this season, a feat which Miller has yet to accomplish.
Vinales and Bastianini meet those requirements.
It is speculated that Miller might consider Honda as another choice.
Miller confessed that he might have taken the Tech3 KTM position, but the bikes were ultimately given to Vinales and Bastianini.
"Last week, Miller mentioned that they are currently in discussions with several manufacturers, including, of course, KTM."
"There is still a seat becoming available on the other side of the garage."
"I genuinely have faith in this project. If I didn't, I wouldn't have gotten involved."
"We began with a lot of momentum. We've faced some challenges along the way, but I'm confident these difficulties will ultimately fortify us."
"I believe I have much more to contribute and demonstrate here."
"We'll attempt to reorganize, develop a new plan, and aim to stay in the game a little longer."
