This week, the leading producer in the top tier made headlines by selecting Marquez for their factory team in 2025.
Days before, it appeared that Martin was on the verge of being named until Marquez dismissed the prospect of joining Pramac at Ducati's suggestion.
MotoGP will make its comeback at Assen in a fortnight, with the destinies of its leading figures now firmly decided.
However, Ducati is now under scrutiny regarding their agreements with four of their riders who are contenders in the current championship, especially since Martin and Enea Bastianini are set to depart at the season's conclusion.
Podcast presenter Jordan Moreland inquired, "Does this alter the situation for Ducati in terms of withholding support from [Martin]?"
"Does it alter the dynamic with Marquez?"
"Currently, he's likely urging Ducati to declare 'I demand improvements on this '23 to ensure it meets the most current specifications'."
Peter McLaren stated: "All of these inquiries are now part of the discussion."
"If Martin faces challenges or has a difficult weekend, there will be speculation about whether he's receiving the necessary support. This is especially pertinent if he secures a victory and brings the championship title to a competing Italian manufacturer."
"Remember, this isn't just any factory. It's an Italian factory!"
"Simultaneously, Marquez is urging his colleagues, emphasizing 'let's work together, back me up, as I will be your official rider next year. Whether I secure the victory or Pecco does, the triumph will remain with Ducati for the upcoming year.'"
"Balancing all these factors will be a significant challenge for Ducati, as they aim to ensure everyone is treated as fairly as possible."
Martin, representing Pramac, is at the forefront of the MotoGP leaderboard following seven events.
He holds a lead of 18 points over Pecco Bagnaia, the current champion and official Ducati team member.
Martin leads the Gresini racer Marquez by a margin of 35 points, holding the third position.
Enea Bastianini, who is in fourth position, trails the leader by 54 points.
