Ducati’s Dramatic Pivot: Marc Marquez to Supersede Jorge Martin in 2025 MotoGP Line-Up
Ducati reverses decision in favor of Marc Marquez, sidelining Jorge Martin
In a sudden shift, Ducati opts for Marc Marquez, moving away from their initial choice of Jorge Martin
In a remarkable development, Ducati is rumored to be planning a significant change by offering Marc Marquez the official 2025 motorcycle, marking a major shift in direction.
It seemed that Jorge Martin was set to join Francesco Bagnaia as his partner for the 2025 MotoGP racing season.
Before the Italian MotoGP commenced last weekend, reports from Italian media suggested that Martin was expected to secure a victory in the race, surpassing Marc Marquez, and would join Bagnaia as his teammate.
Autosport has now disclosed that Marquez might soon surpass Martin in the rankings.
Martin is now officially set to become a part of Aprilia in 2025.
Ducati allegedly communicated to Martin that he had been selected, in the period between the Barcelona and Mugello races.
A high-ranking official from the factory extended a handshake to Martin, expressing gratitude for his patience, just before the Italian MotoGP took place last weekend.
Ducati firmly believed that Marquez would agree to a switch to Pramac, receiving the same equipment and backing as the official team riders.
However, Marquez surprised Ducati by openly stating that Pramac was not a consideration.
The report further mentioned that Ducati was thrown into a state of alarm after learning about Marquez's declaration of not teaming up with Pramac.
There's speculation that Ducati has had a change of heart and might be preparing to reveal Marquez as Bagnaia's partner for the 2025 season.
Consequently, Enea Bastianini is set to depart from Ducati.
