Chevrolet Unveils 2025 Equinox EV at Competitive $34,995: Boasting 319-Mile Range and Enhanced Power
The electric version of the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox is priced at $34,995 and boasts a 319-mile range, along with an enhancement in its power. It seems Chevrolet has kept its promise on the release of this affordable Equinox EV. However, the launch date has been pushed to the 2025 model year instead of the anticipated 2024.
General Motors announced on Thursday that the entry-level 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV LT is set to hit the market shortly. This model features stylish 19-inch machined wheels and comes fully equipped with technology, boasting a large 17.7-inch infotainment touchscreen alongside an 11-inch display for vehicle information, a comprehensive array of safety features, and the convenience of remote and hands-free ignition. However, it opts for fabric seats with manual adjustments and does not include seat warmers or heated steering wheels, which are often appreciated by electric vehicle owners in colder climates.
The starting price for the Equinox EV is set at $34,995, a figure that Chevy had previously announced for the 2024 model and this cost encompasses the $1,395 fee for delivery. It is expected that this vehicle will maintain the current 2024 Equinox's ability to travel 319 miles on a single charge, thanks to its 85-kwh battery. According to Chevy, this electric vehicle will qualify for the $7,500 electric vehicle tax credit in 2024, which would effectively reduce the cost to a mere $27,495.

All-Electric 2024 Chevy Equinox
Chevrolet has announced that the latest iteration of their electric vehicle, set to release in 2025, will see an increase in performance compared to the 2024 model. The single-motor, front-wheel-drive version will produce 220 horsepower and 243 pound-feet of torque, while the dual-motor, all-wheel-drive version will deliver 300 horsepower and 355 pound-feet of torque. This marks an enhancement of 7 horsepower and 7 pound-feet for the front-wheel variant, and a 12 horsepower and 22 pound-feet increase for the all-wheel variant.
Chevrolet has not officially announced the additional price for incorporating all-wheel drive into the LT model, however, it's anticipated to be a $3,300 surcharge for the 2024 edition.
Chevrolet has updated the model previously known as the 2LT, now offering it as a part of a new option package for the year 2025 with a price tag of $43,295. There's also a mid-range option called the "Comfort and Active Safety 2 Package" priced at $36,995. Meanwhile, the highest tier in the series, once referred to as the 3LT, is now available for $46,395.
Adding to the features, the 2LT offers amenities such as roof-mounted bars, a rear window wiper, an automated rear door, adjustable driver's seat with power function, seats in the front that are heated, a steering wheel that warms up, and a cruise control system that adjusts automatically. Meanwhile, the 3LT enhances comfort with ventilated seats in the front, power-adjustable seating for the front passenger, a de-icing area for the wipers, rear seats with heating on the sides, a two-zone temperature control system, and larger 21-inch alloy wheels.

Chevy points out that their high-end LT and RS models now come equipped with a head-up display and a mirror that integrates a rearview camera.
Leading the 2025 Equinox EV range, the RS stands out. Formerly known as the 2RS and featuring 21-inch wheels, a black roof, and a flat-bottom steering wheel, it's currently marketed as the RS and comes with a price tag of $44,795. On the other hand, what used to be the 3RS, which included features such as dual-zone climate control, a power passenger seat, heated rear seats, among others, is now available as an additional package, priced at $47,890.
During an initial test run of the 2024 Chevy Equinox EV in May, Green Car Reports described this introductory electric vehicle from GM as setting a new standard for American electric vehicles, offering an enjoyable and user-friendly driving experience.
Chevrolet has adjusted the Equinox EV's price point, mirroring the strategy they applied to the somewhat more upscale Blazer EV. For the 2025 model, the Blazer EV will see a reduction in the starting price for its current LT and RS models.
At present, the introduction of the Equinox EV, priced at $34,995, positions it as one of the most affordable electric vehicles in the American market. General Motors CEO Mary Barra has assured that this isn't the cheapest electric vehicle in Chevrolet's lineup, hinting at the future release of the 2026 Chevy Bolt EV which is set to be the most budget-friendly EV in the U.S.
