Yamaha announces Paolo Pavesio as Lin Jarvis's successor for managing director role starting in 2025
Paolo Pavesio has been appointed to take over Lin Jarvis' position at Yamaha.
Starting January 1, 2025, Pavesio will take on the role of managing director at Yamaha Motor Racing.
He used to serve as the Director of Marketing and Motorsport at Yamaha Motor Europe, where he reorganized the motorsport department, leading to subsequent world championship victories in World Superbikes, EWC, and MXGP.
Pavesio will take over the position from Jarvis, who has been the Yamaha leader for 26 years and is now
Jarvis guided Yamaha to securing eight rider championships, six manufacturer championships, and seven team championships. He managed the peak periods of the Japanese company with stars like Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo, as well as their latest championship win with Fabio Quartararo.
Even though Jarvis is stepping down from his role as managing director, he will continue to serve as a Senior Advisor at Yamaha.
Takahiro Sumi, the General Manager of Yamaha's Motor Sports Development Division, expressed his gratitude to Lin for his 26 years of commitment and accomplishments, both personally and on behalf of the company.
"His dedication, hard work, and leadership have played a crucial role in Yamaha's achievements in MotoGP, and I am pleased that we will continue to benefit from his expertise in the future."
Paolo Pavesio will take over the position of Managing Director from Lin. Pavesio has extensive experience, having previously served as Marketing and Motorsport Director at YME, where he led Yamaha teams to victory in WorldSBK, EWC, and MXGP World Championships.
"I am eager to have Paolo join YMR in January. With him at the helm, I am sure Yamaha can achieve the future victories in MotoGP that we all aim for."
