Results at the Conclusion of Practice
As the practice session wraps up, here's how the top 10 – who directly advance to Q2 – are positioned:
Final Practice Session – Checkered Flag
The checkered flag has been waved in the final practice session, and it appears that reigning world champion Bagnaia will maintain his lead.
Event
Aleix Espargaro experienced a crash at Turn 1. The rear of his bike slid out, causing him to fall. As a result, he will need to compete in Q1 since he is currently positioned in 11th place.
Bagnaia delivers an impressive performance, securing the leading position with a time of 1m30.685s.
In the meantime, Bagnaia surges ahead to lead the standings with a time of 1 minute and 30.885 seconds.
Quartararo climbs up to a safer position in seventh place, but it remains uncertain if that will secure him a spot in Q2.
Quartararo has slipped to 10th place and is now at risk. Morbidelli, Vinales, Rins, Alex Marquez, and Jack Miller—whose recent top 10 time was just nullified—are all vying to move into the top 10.
Martin breaks into the 1 minute 30 second range for the first time today, taking the lead with a time of 1 minute 30.966 seconds.
A replay of Acosta's crash reveals that he lost control of the front of his bike as he was entering Turn 8.
Report
Pedro Acosta experienced a crash at Turn 8. He is unhurt and has gotten up. This has led to yellow flags being displayed, impacting the lap times of other riders.
Marc Marquez has clocked the quickest time at 1 minute and 31.034 seconds.
However, Acosta swiftly overtook Bastianini with a time of 1 minute and 31.203 seconds.
Bastianini was in need of an outstanding lap, and he delivered! The Ducati racer clocked in at 1 minute and 31.242 seconds, propelling him to the top of the leaderboard.
Binder moves up to third place on the factory KTM with a time of 1 minute and 31.422 seconds, climbing from 15th position. Bastianini achieves ninth place, but will require a better performance to secure a spot in Q2.
Current Standings with 15 Minutes Remaining
As we approach the final burst of time attacks in this session, here is the present Q2 ranking:
Quartararo was on course to take the lead, but his attempt was invalidated after he made contact with the green paint at Turn 11.
Martin clocks a time of 1 minute 31.579 seconds using a soft rear tire that has already been through 17 laps, placing him in fifth position. This is an exceptionally fast performance from the current world championship frontrunner.
Aleix Espargaro moves up to third place by clocking a time of 1m31.433 on a new soft rear tire.
Most of the drivers are currently in the pitlane, preparing for their time trials to qualify for Q2. Martin is still on the track with worn soft tires and is clocking fast sector times, although he is still in fourth place.
A few racers, including Vinales and Pol Espargaro, have opted to start early using new soft tires for a time trial. Both are currently positioned within the top 10, with just over 20 minutes remaining.
Numerous lap times are being voided in this session due to track limit violations. The traction at Misano is excellent, which naturally leads to several riders exceeding the boundaries.
Acosta returns to the top of the leaderboard with a time of 1 minute and 31.301 seconds.
