Jack Miller’s Next Move: Options Abound After KTM Exit
What lies ahead for Jack Miller following his departure from KTM?
What are Jack Miller's next steps after being dropped from the KTM MotoGP team?
On Thursday, it was revealed that Maverick Vinales and Enea Bastianini will join the Tech3 team, filling KTM’s MotoGP roster for the 2025 season. As a result, Jack Miller will part ways with the Austrian company at the conclusion of this season.
In 2023, the Australian rider switched from Ducati to KTM, after initially starting his MotoGP career with Honda in 2015.
Miller's prospective plans were discussed in a special episode of the Crash.net MotoGP podcast, which also addressed the Vinales-Bastianini agreements.
"Host Jordan Moreland announced that KTM has welcomed two new individuals while two others, including Jack Miller, are leaving. Moreland speculated that Miller's likely next move could be to Honda, and asked if that seemed plausible."
"That will definitely catch his attention and could be his prime opportunity for a factory team spot," responded Pete McLaren, the MotoGP editor. "Additionally, there have been recent speculations about Jack being in touch with Repsol Honda."
“Jack would contribute a great deal of expertise. He has a track record of winning races and has experience with two leading European motorcycles in MotoGP. This background makes him an appealing prospect for both Japanese manufacturers looking to advance their development.”
"Quartararo’s teammate from the factory Yamaha team hasn't made a decision yet. Additionally, Miller’s old team, Pramac, who were very fond of him, are currently in talks with Yamaha."
"I can picture Aki Ajo, who manages Miller, making calls to both of those manufacturers."
"If Jack is open to considering satellite Ducati teams, both Gresini and Pramac – assuming they continue their partnership with Ducati – are each set to lose a prominent rider."
Pedro Acosta will replace Miller on the factory KTM team next season. Meanwhile, Augusto Fernandez, who is currently Acosta's teammate at Tech3, will also lose his position.
