Hyundai Inster (2024): Size and Trunk Space

Amidst a market saturated with increasingly larger vehicles, the fresh Hyundai Inster stands out. This electric mini-crossover bucks the trend by focusing on a uniquely compact body design that boasts personal and distinctive shapes.

The trimmed edges don't compromise its utility compared to other vehicles; in fact, it enables this Korean newcomer to rival numerous European counterparts.
Hyundai Inster: The Dimensions
The real prowess of the Hyundai Inster lies in its diminutive size. At just 3.82 meters in length, it can easily fit into tight parking spots, but it's the width that truly sets this little Hyundai apart.

With a slim width of just 1.61 meters (excluding side mirrors), the Inster is highly suitable for navigating through the tightest urban pathways. For context, the latest Fiat Grande Panda is approximately 14 cm wider.
Hyundai Inster: Interior and Cargo Space
Despite its small size, the Hyundai Inster doesn't compromise on interior space or seating capacity, making smart use of the available area. The rear seat comfortably accommodates two adults and can be adjusted forward or backward by roughly ten centimeters.
Hyundai Inster, the trunk space
By adjusting the seating arrangements, passengers can enjoy more legroom or increase the trunk space. The cargo capacity varies, starting at a minimum of 238 liters with the back seats fully reclined, to 351 liters when the seats are pushed all the way forward, and up to 1,059 liters when the two rear seats are folded down. Additionally, the cargo area is level.
When examining the size specifications alone, the Hyundai Inster faces numerous competitors. However, when factoring in its market placement and the inclusion of an electric powertrain in its lineup, the field of rivals significantly narrows.
Latest from Hyundai:
The only true "natural" competitors are the Fiat Grande Panda and the Dacia Spring, while the Renault 5 E-Tech Electric, although fully electric, is a bit pricier than the Hyundai. While the French car starts at over 32,000 euros, the Inster is expected to have a starting price of around 25,000 euros.
