Ford Puma (2024): The Interior Post-Refresh

The recent makeover of the Ford Puma has brought changes not just to its exterior, but also to the vehicle's interior. This SUV, measuring around 4.20 meters in length and noted as a top-seller in the B-segment, has enhanced its focus on both infotainment features and practicality.

The Dashboard

The driver's area of the Puma has undergone several enhancements. Notably, it features two new digital screens: a 12.8-inch driver’s display and a 12-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system. This system includes the cloud-connected SYNC4, voice control via Alexa, Apple CarPlay compatibility, and wireless Android Auto. The placement of the air vents higher up gives the dashboard a very angular and robust appearance.

On the passenger side, there are updated trim pieces, and the steering wheel features a refreshed, more contemporary design. The upholstery includes Sensico synthetic leather, which can be paired with the microfiber material of the seats.

In front of the gear stick, there's a compartment for wireless charging of smartphones, while the center console is equipped with a pair of cup holders. Additionally, the door pockets are quite spacious.

Features and Materials

As previously highlighted, one of the fresh attributes of the Ford Puma is the inclusion of SensiCo synthetic leather upholstery. Additionally, the door panels are designed with soft materials at the top, while the lower, less visible sections are fitted with rough, hard plastic. The red stitching found in the more premium trims adds a touch of sportiness and elegance to the Puma.

Interior Space

The car's small size results in a few trade-offs regarding rear seat space. Individuals over 6 feet 2 inches tall will find very limited legroom and headroom. This issue extends to the middle seat, although it could be manageable for short distances.

The trunk space is ample, ranking among the top in its category. The Puma offers a base cargo capacity of 456 liters, which can be expanded to 1,216 liters when the back seats are folded down. The standout feature is the Megabox, an additional storage compartment of 80 liters located in the trunk's lower level. It's designed to accommodate items up to 1.15 meters tall or for cleaning pets or tools, thanks to a drainage plug.

Hooks and a 12-volt socket round out the trunk features.
