KTM chief speaks on the 2025 rider roster
The head of KTM faced intense questioning over allegations suggesting Brad Binder might face a downgrade in the upcoming season.
Pedro Acosta's rise at Tech3 GASGAS has created quite a buzz this season.
A potential outcome might involve a surprising adjustment in KTM's team composition, driven by the need to honor Acosta's exceptional performance with a higher ranking and superior equipment.
During the Catalunya MotoGP, when questioned, KTM's motorsport head, Pit Beirer, faced inquiries about the possibility of Binder being compelled to leave the factory team by 2025.
"Beirer replied, "I'm unable to disclose that information."
"In our team, we hold four spots in the MotoGP competition."
Currently, it's unclear who occupies any given role or stands on which side.
"We typically examine the four locations to maximize their potential."
Binder's contract runs through 2025, and until the initial races of this season, he has been recognized as KTM's leading rider.
Jack Miller, his teammate, is also facing uncertainty as his contract ends this season and his position is jeopardized by Acosta.
KTM is anticipated to elevate Acosta to their premier team following his impressive debut in the first six rounds of his MotoGP career.
"Berier was in awe of Acosta's actions, describing them as truly incredible."
He was doing wonderfully until the mishap at Le Mans. However, the young man is only 20 years old.
"He shouldn't be solely responsible for the group's success. We ought to appreciate every outstanding moment he provides us with."
"It's also essential for Brad and Jack to deliver a strong performance."
Acosta currently ranks sixth in the MotoGP rankings, leading among KTM competitors.
Binder, who stood out as the highest-ranking non-Ducati rider in 2023, securing fourth place for the year, hasn't managed to replicate his early success from the start of this season, where he secured a podium finish in Qatar.
