The luxurious derivatives of the 3 and 4 series have received a power boost of 34 HP…
In the automotive world, it's common to follow up an "A" with a "B." So, does a BMW facelift naturally lead to an Alpina upgrade? Just one week following the 3 series revamp, the carmaker from Buchloe is rolling out its updated versions.
"Enhanced power, increased rev enjoyment, and exceptional responsiveness" – that's the slogan Alpina uses to characterize the 3.0-liter bi-turbo inline-six-cylinder engine featured in the newly updated BMW 3 and 4 series. The engineers have managed to extract an additional 34 horsepower for the GT model, surpassing the 500 mark. Drivers of the eager B3 GT and B4 GT now have access to a robust 529 horsepower and a peak torque of 730 Nm, especially when navigating the winding mountain roads of the Alps, if available.

The updated 8-speed sport automatic transmission, a fully variable all-wheel drive, and a standard regulated rear-axle limited-slip differential strive to master the situation. An increase in power, chassis tuning, and enhanced aerodynamics in the latest evolutionary stage are evident in the improved driving performance compared to previous versions.

The BMW Alpina B4 GT has been updated with fresh stabilizers featuring a more rigid connection, alongside extensive revisions to the steering and adjustable shock absorbers. Additionally, the all-wheel-drive system and the regulated rear axle limited-slip differential were given a new calibration.

Additionally, there are subtle changes to the exterior, including tweaks to the "Canards" and rear diffuser. The robust appearance is rounded out with traditional 20-inch Alpina forged wheels featuring the iconic spokes in "Oro Tecnico" color, and the classic exterior shades of "Alpina Blue" or "Alpina Green."
"Oro Tecnico" also graces the interior. Several accents and stitches are featured in the signature color of the GT models. The paddle shifters are crafted from anodized aluminum. A GT emblem is prominently displayed on both the door entry sills and the clasp of the new sport leather steering wheel. A unique production number plaque on the center console signifies the individuality of each vehicle. BMW's "Driving Assistant Professional" comes standard in Alpina models.
Alpine Expansion
Orders for the BMW Alpina B3 GT and Alpina B4 GT are now being accepted. Delivery is expected to begin around November 2024. The starting price for the B3 GT Sedan is at least 101,700 euros, with the Touring version priced at 102,900 euros. The B4 GT Gran Coupé is available starting from 105,100 euros. This model essentially serves as a substitute for the BMW M4 Gran Coupé, which was not brought to fruition by BMW.
