The leading theoretical journal of the Communist Party has emphasized the danger posed by "destructive" "international entities" aiming to sway China's young people. This was done by publishing segments from a speech made by Chinese President Xi Jinping six years earlier.
During his address at the 2018 National Education Conference, Xi criticized certain groups for attempting to "Westernize" Chinese young people and orchestrate a "color revolution." He emphasized the importance of ideological education in schools.
