Tragedy Strikes School in Eastern China: Bus Crash Kills 11, Community Rallies with Blood Donation Drive
Five children and six adults have perished in eastern China after a bus collided with a group at a school, with the driver now in custody. In response, a nearby cinema is facilitating blood donations by hosting mobile units, following a widespread appeal on social media to assist the many injured in the incident.
On Tuesday morning, a bus plowed into a group of people outside a middle school in eastern China, resulting in the deaths of 11 individuals and injuries to 24 others.
State-run CCTV reported that the accident happened at about 7 a.m. outside Foshan Junior High School in Dongping county, Shandong province, on the second day of the school year.
According to the report, those injured were transported to the hospital.
According to Dongping police, the tragic incident resulted in the deaths of six parents and five students. Additionally, one individual was critically injured, while twelve others are reported to be in stable condition. The status of the remaining victims remains unclear.
Authorities reported that a school bus transporting students was involved in an accident. While nearing an intersection, the bus went out of control and collided with a group of people. Law enforcement has since taken the driver into custody, and an investigation into the incident is underway.
