Tragedy Strikes in Eastern China: 11 Dead as School Bus Crash Claims Lives of Students and Parents
Five children and six adults have died in eastern China when a bus plowed into a group of people outside a school. Following the incident, which resulted in 11 fatalities and numerous injuries, the bus driver was taken into custody by authorities. This tragic event occurred shortly after national media shared new policies intended to protect students.
On Tuesday morning in eastern China, a bus collided with a group of people outside a junior high school, resulting in 11 fatalities and 24 injuries.
State media CCTV reported that the accident happened at about 7 a.m. outside Foshan Junior High School in Dongping County, Shandong Province, on the second day of the school year.
According to the report, the injured were transported to the hospital.
According to Dongping police, the tragic incident resulted in the deaths of six parents and five students. Additionally, one individual was critically injured, whereas 12 others were reported to be in stable condition. The status of the remaining victims has not been disclosed.
Authorities reported that a school bus, tasked with transporting students, met with an accident. The bus was nearing an intersection when it veered off course and collided with pedestrians. Law enforcement has since taken the driver into custody and an investigation into the incident is underway.
