Tragedy Strikes Eastern China: Bus Crash Kills 11, Including Children and Parents, Outside School
Five children and six adults have perished in eastern China when a bus plowed into a crowd outside a school. The incident, which also left many injured, occurred shortly after national media reported on new policies aimed at protecting students. Authorities have since detained the bus driver responsible for the fatal crash.
On Tuesday morning, a bus collided with a group of people outside a junior high school in eastern China, resulting in the deaths of 11 individuals and injuries to 24 others.
State-owned television CCTV reported that an accident took place at approximately 7 a.m. outside the Foshan Junior High School in Dongping County, Shandong Province, marking the second day of the academic year.
According to the report, those injured were transported to the hospital.
According to Dongping police, the tragic incident resulted in the deaths of six parents and five students. One individual sustained severe injuries, while 12 others are reported to be in stable condition. The status of additional casualties has not been disclosed.
According to police, a school bus, which was used to transport students, veered off its path as it neared an intersection and collided with a group of people. The bus driver has been taken into custody for questioning, and authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the incident.
