Tragedy Strikes Eastern China: 11 Dead, Including Students and Parents, in Horrific School Bus Accident
Five children and six adults have perished in eastern China when a bus plowed into a group of people outside a school. Following the tragic incident that resulted in 11 fatalities and numerous injuries, the bus driver has been taken into custody by police. This accident occurred shortly after national media highlighted new initiatives aimed at enhancing student safety.
On Tuesday morning, in eastern China, a bus plowed into a group of people outside a junior high school, resulting in 11 fatalities and 24 injuries.
State media outlet CCTV reported that the accident happened at about 7 a.m. outside Foshan Junior High School in Dongping County, Shandong Province, on the second day back to school.
According to the report, the injured were transported to the hospital.
According to Dongping police, the tragic incident resulted in the deaths of six parents and five students. Additionally, one individual sustained severe injuries, while 12 others are reported to be in stable condition. The status of the remaining victims has not been disclosed.
According to police statements, the vehicle involved was a school bus assigned to transport students. The bus was nearing an intersection when it veered off course and collided with a group of people. Authorities have taken the driver into custody, and the incident is currently under investigation.
