Tragedy Strikes Eastern China: 11 Dead as School Bus Plows into Crowd
In eastern China, a tragic incident occurred outside a school where a bus crashed into a group of people, resulting in the deaths of 5 children and 6 adults. Following the crash, which also left many injured, the bus driver was taken into custody by the police. This catastrophe unfolded just days after national media highlighted new initiatives aimed at protecting students.
On Tuesday morning, a bus collided with a group of people outside a middle school in eastern China, resulting in 11 fatalities and 24 injuries.
State-run CCTV reported that the accident took place at about 7 a.m. outside Foshan Junior High School in Dongping County, Shandong Province, on the second day of the school year.
According to the report, the injured were transported to the hospital.
Authorities in Dongping reported that among the deceased were six parents and five students. Additionally, one individual sustained severe injuries, while twelve others are in stable condition. The status of the remaining victims has not been disclosed.
According to law enforcement, the vehicle involved was a school bus tasked with transporting students. The bus veered off course as it neared an intersection and collided with a group of people. Authorities have taken the driver into custody and are currently conducting an investigation into the incident.
