Tragedy Strikes Eastern China: 11 Dead as School Bus Plows into Crowd
In eastern China, a tragic incident occurred when a bus struck a group of people outside a school, resulting in the deaths of five children and six adults. Authorities have detained the bus driver following the crash, which also left many injured. This incident happened shortly after state media reported on new initiatives aimed at enhancing student safety.
On Tuesday morning in eastern China, a bus collided with a group of people outside a middle school, resulting in 11 fatalities and 24 injuries.
State-run CCTV reported that the accident happened at about 7 a.m. outside Foshan Junior High School in Dongping County, Shandong Province, on the second day back to school.
According to the report, the injured were transported to the hospital.
According to Dongping police, the tragic incident resulted in the deaths of six parents and five students. Additionally, one individual sustained severe injuries, while 12 others were reported to be in stable condition. The status of the remaining victims has not been disclosed.
The vehicle involved was a school bus assigned to transport students, according to police statements. It lost control as it neared an intersection and collided with a group of people. Authorities have taken the driver into custody, and an investigation into the incident is currently underway.
