It is said that Ollie Bearman is set to receive a contract worth over a hundred thousand dollars to race for the Haas team in 202
This weekend, the young British driver will once more take control for the F1 squad during FP1 at the Spanish Grand Prix.
Haas has granted Bearman six FP1 sessions this season to closely monitor his development.
"Obviously, we are assessing him," stated Haas leader Ayao Komatsu.
"If he wasn't being evaluated for the role, we wouldn't have him participating in the first practice session, and his next opportunity to drive will be in Barcelona."
Bearman has reportedly inked a covert two-year agreement to compete full-time with Haas, according to the Daily Mail.
The 19-year-old is set to earn between £250,000 and £300,000 in his first year.
His earnings could potentially double if Haas decides to retain him for the 2026 season as well.
Bearman is set to join the trio of British drivers in F1, including Lewis Hamilton, George Russell, and Lando Norris, making him the fourth from the UK
Bearman made a remarkable first appearance in an F1 race with Ferrari, surprising many earlier this year.
Stepping in for the ailing Carlos Sainz, Bearman secured a seventh-place finish at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, making history as the third youngest F1 driver to do so.
He's a member of the Ferrari academy who relocated to Maranello to hone his skills.
According to the Mail, Haas is convinced that his skills are sufficient to secure him a spot in their vehicle for the upcoming season.
Komatsu emphasized the qualifications required for their new driver, stating the importance of having an individual with considerable experience and a strong work ethic, who can seamlessly blend into the team and significantly contribute to its progress.
"That's our objective, hence we're in discussions with multiple drivers."
Formula 1's most promising upcoming talent is set to take the wheel this Friday in Barcelona.
