Quartararo Battles Arm Issues in Disastrous Italian MotoGP Finish
Fabio Quartararo following a challenging Italian MotoGP: "I experienced a problem with my arm"
Fabio Quartararo: "Essentially, it was a difficult race, particularly in terms of physicality. I encountered a problem with my arm, which significantly hindered my ability to ride effectively during the final ten laps".
Fabio Quartararo dropped to 18th position during the Italian MotoGP, facing significant difficulties in the last ten laps.
The weekend, which was already challenging for the 2021 world champion, escalated into a catastrophe at the grand prix when he started experiencing issues with his arm.
In a track where he previously triumphed riding a Yamaha, Quartararo completed the most recent race an astonishing 30 seconds behind the victor, Francesco Bagnaia.
"Quartararo opened up by saying, 'The race was exceptionally challenging, particularly in terms of physical exertion. I encountered a problem with my arm, which significantly hindered my ability to perform well during the final ten laps."
"The issue isn't arm pump; rather, my arm reaches its threshold when we're racing on tracks like this one. It's regrettable that we couldn't achieve higher speeds."
"Our anticipation was higher for this competition. We face challenges when there's less traction. We're hopeful of discovering a way to enhance the bike's maneuverability."
"We've scheduled a few strategies for tomorrow's exam aimed at addressing one of our lesser strengths. If these tactics prove beneficial in this context, I believe they'll also enhance our physical riding capabilities."
Alex Rins managed to earn a point for Yamaha, although he dropped from his starting position of tenth.
By the race's conclusion, Rins had fallen to 15th place, subsequently conceding that the outcome was below his anticipated performance.
Rins commented, "Definitely, this wasn't the race I was hoping for. I battled fiercely to secure the 15th spot."
"Throughout the entire race, I faced difficulties right from the start. However, I did manage to perform slightly better at the onset than I did the previous day, losing only two spots this time."
As each lap passed, I made an effort to stay present. I focused on controlling the motorcycle and maintaining my fitness, given that handling our current bike is quite challenging.
"However, these competitions serve as trials for us. They present a distinct opportunity to match our skills against other competitors, our adversaries, and to learn from those encounters."
